H. McLarnon & Son is committed to identifying how and where its operations affect the environment and to the introduction of cost effective measures to achieve continuous improvements.

To this end we are committed to the development and implementation of a satisfactory Management System.

Our policy aims to:

  • Comply with all applicable statutory regulations, government guidelines and industry codes of practice, waste management, noise management, dust and fumes management, wildlife and vegetation management;
  • Establish standards of our own where regulations or codes do not exist;
  • Minimise environmental disturbance in all our activities;
  • Make efficient use of natural resources, minimising waste and conserving energy and water;
  • Incorporate into our commercial decision making an awareness of environmental factors.

The following applies particularly to new developments, projects and acquisitions initiated by the Management:

  • Promote environmental awareness and understanding amongst all staff so that their working activities are carried out in line with the corporate Environmental Policy and to seek their active participation in environmental activities;
  • Promote the exchange of information within the group in order to share the best practice; endeavor to ensure that our major suppliers and sub-contractors are aware of and apply environmental standards compatible with our own; carry out reviews regularly to ensure that the objectives of our policy are being achieved.

H. McLarnon & Son’s environmental policy recognises that:- design specifications and procedures relating to many contracting operations may be wholly or partly outside H. McLarnon & Son’s control or influence; H. McLarnon & Son activities, like all human activities, will have some effect on the environment; a satisfactory environmental performance is fundamental to a successful business.
