Our policy aims to:
- Maintain the structures and mechanisms for identifying training needs and for monitoring the effectiveness of our training policy and programmes.
- Provide Line Managers with the responsibility for the continual monitoring of staff training and development throughout the year and to provide the necessary assistance and encouragement to ensure that H. McLarnon & Son’s objectives are being met, procedures are being followed and that staff fulfilment needs are being achieved.
- Give Induction training to all new employees during early weeks of employment, to familiarise them with the organisation’s structures and procedures which will include training in Health and Safety to ensure the protection of the individual and the proper handling of specified system to meet the needs of the company and statutory requirements to illustrate their role within it.
- Undergo Skills training including the installation of safety nets and edge protection, the operation of equipment and machinery such as scissors lifts and self propelled booms. All employees undergo regular training and posses current and valid CSR cards and each team of workers has at least one member that possesses supervisory qualifications as recognised by the Construction Skills Register Scheme.
- Establish a record of up to date training and qualification for each individual employee and held centrally on the personnel file.
- Carry out an internal review of the company training policy and procedures will be every 12 months of H. McLarnon & Son’s management.
As part of the H. McLarnon & Son’s continuing commitment to training and development, employees are asked to provide feedback on the value and effectiveness of the training and learning they undertake.
Our Policy ensures that the training methods, programmes and organisations being used for training are meeting both H. McLarnon & Son and the trainee’s needs and that value for money is being realised.
